Meet Mrs. Luxem
Hello dear families!
I am Mary Luxem, the new PreK four year old teacher. I am thrilled to be part of the St. Norbert Learning Community! While I was raising my five children I fell in love with teaching, and returned to National-Louis University to get a Master of Arts in Teaching. I began teaching in 2010, have experience teaching kindergarten, first and second grade, and have taught in several schools throughout the north Chicago suburbs. I have a BA in English Literature from Saint Mary’s College, and admit to a soft spot in my heart for South Bend, IN: Go Irish! My five amazing children are grown; four are married, and I have 8 grandchildren! They are the light of my life and my favorite “hobby,” although “obsession" is a more accurate description! I love to read, to garden, to sit on the beach, to watch the sunrise and sunset everyday while saying a prayer of gratitude, and, a special favorite, is to visit new places and meet new people! My heart is full of joy to be here and I can’t wait to meet my young learners, as well as all our families. May God bless us and keep us in His care while we work, play and enjoy His creation.
