Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hello! My name is Mr. McCarthy, and I am excited to be teaching second grade! I believe the classroom should be a place where students feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and excited to learn. I love finding creative ways to bring learning to life while encouraging students to share their ideas, ask questions, and discover their unique talents.

One of my favorite parts of being a teacher is watching students grow in confidence throughout the year, not only as learners, but as kind, thoughtful members of our classroom community. My goal is to make second grade a year filled with meaningful learning, creativity, laughter, and memories that students can be proud of.
