Upcoming 7th Grade SS Test

The next Social Studies test for the 7th grade, on the Bill of Rights, will be next week Monday, the 19th.

Uploaded immediately following this message will be the relevant PowerPoints. There were also notes written on the board that will count.

Homework Makes the Brain Work

7th grade SS - "You Be the Judge" worksheet on the 5th Amendment.  Due tomorrow.

That is all.

That Gypsy Woman is Just Like Us, Except She's Homework, She's Homework

That's a pretty obscure reference, I have to admit...

8th grade Religion - a one-paragraph essay on how John 20:21-23 relates to the process/sacrament of confession.

6th grade LA - pg. 399 Exercises 11, 12, and 13 in the Grammar book.

The Henry Ford Questions

1. What was Henry Ford's vision for the automobile?

2. What were the advantages of assembly line processing to the consumer?

3. What were the benefits (to workers, and to Ford) of the "$5 day"?

4. How did Ford engage in social engineering?

5. What innovations made the Model T a success?

6. In what ways can Henry Ford be said to have ushered in the modern age?

Hell Hath No Fury Like Homework Scorned

6th grade LA - read "Heartache", pgs. 507-511 in the Lit book, and answer questions 1-5 in the critical thinking section.

6th grade SS - complete the city/river/mountains maps of Germany and France.

8th grade SS - answer the questions about the American Experience Henry Ford video.  I'll post those questions immediately following this.

All the Saints Do Homework

Every single one.

7th Grade SS: "You Be the Judge" worksheet on the 4th Amendment.  Due Friday.

6th Grade LA: The short stories they've been working on in class all week are due during class tomorrow.  IF the young scholar feels they need more time to hit the 1,000 word requirement (or have it make sense, or be better) then they should work on it tonight.

My gift to you: Homework

6th grade SS: pg. 347 questions 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 for Thursday PLUS the United Kingdom map if it isn't already finished (the majority have them finished)

7th grade SS: the questions pertaining to state gun laws for Friday.

Rainy days and Mondays and homework always get me down.

8th grade SS - pg. 613 questions 1, 2, 4, 5 for Tuesday

6th grade LA - read rest of chapter 1 of Main Street (to page 27) and assume there will be a brief quiz on it.

6th grade SS - 10 nations of Europe on our "stat box" sheet, due Tuesday

7th grade SS - should have had a worksheet but I somehow forgot to pass it out.  They will get it tomorrow to be due Thursday.

That is all.

homework and test prep: you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll learn...but mostly you'll cry

7th grade SS: worksheet on the origins of the Freedom of Expression clauses in the First Amendment.  It's as much fun as it sounds and it's due on Monday.

6th grade SS:  TEST TOMORROW.

Fin.

If you're not preppin' for a testin' then you're crusin' for a bruisin'

No homework, though I mean to give some to 7th grade SS and accidentally copied the wrong pages.  They'll get the homework tomorrow though the trees are dead forever now.

TEST ON FRIDAY IN 6TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES.  They put together the study guide themselves in class yesterday (Tuesday) so they should have pa-lenty of time to study.  This one is on South America and will be the same format as the test on Africa; half vocabulary and half map placement.  A great opportunity to sink or swim, with a Spanish or Portuguese accent.
